Check Out My Cards Package

I have been squirreling away a few tiny purchases over the past few months at checkoutmycards.com. When I reached 50 cards, I figured it was time to ship. Combining cards into one order saves on shipping.

50 cards = $26.60

Shipping = $15.25

$15.25???? What!!!???

Let's break this down.

50 penny sleeves = $0.50

3 team bags = $0.12

6 toploaders = $1.50

1 bubble mailer = $1.00

Postage to mail = $2.75

Total cost = $5.87

Cost not accounted for = $9.38

That's a huge difference, don't you think? Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with my order and the cards I received (except for the Windsor Green & Linen Green colors being mixed up), but the sticker shock of unaccounted shipping money is atrocious.

I can understand a few bucks, but nearly $10?

it's what I've been saying all along. Everyone is in love with COMC but I won't use it. ebay is so much cheaper. (ever thought you'd hear that?)
and Sportlots is much better.

They (COMC) rob you blind.

It's a processing fee. They gotta make their money somehow.

They make commission on sales.

COMC is great if you are making a big purchase of singles i.e. building a set. 5 auctions on EBAY and there is your $15. Don't get me wrong, the $9 processing fee or whatever the hell that is, is absolutely ridiculous.

They screwed up the linens and windsors for you too?

I get that COMC has to make money, but that just seems a little excessive for a $26.60 order. I knew about it before I paid, but until I saw how the cards were shipped for an order that large, it never dawned on me how much they charge for processing fees and whatever else.

I'm not really complaining about it. It's just a bit of sticker shock for someone who knows the value of the materials used. I put in high estimates for each item. I only say high estimates, because they probably get a greater discount by buying product in bulk.

I ordered green linens and green windsors of Fisk and Thomas, I got both Fisk cards and received two Thomas windsors.

They told me that they were going back through their stock and verify the cards. Im surprised they didnt do this when the cards came in. Don't know if they read it, but I sent them my article on it.

The mistake was partially my own. I didn't check the scans as closely as I thought I did on the Thomas cards. Rechecking the scans, they look to be both windsor. Still, that mistake shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Its hard enough in person, but sometimes I can tell on a scan but that's a bit much to ask from the buyer. It's the seller's responsibility.

There is such a thing as paying for convience. COMC is convenient. Sure, the shipping is an issue and I wish it wasn't. But I hate spending forever shopping around, both online and in the real world. COMC eliminates that.

Different strokes.

That's my biggest gripe with COMC. That and there is no description of condition on any of the cards, you have to use the scans to judge for yourself. I bought 17 cards for about 10 bucks and 8 bucks shipping. Seems that this site almost favors buying fewer more expensive cards.
