A Monumental West Virginian Package

"In addition to the cards i told you I'd send, I threw in all the Sox cards I had in my oddball box. There are a couple cards that aren't in the best condition for their age, but I thought you'd appreciate them anyway." - Billy Suter from West Virginia Cards

It takes a lot to include something in a trade that I've never heard of before. It's an even rarer feat for that release to include a player that I have actively collected in the past. That release would be Broder Rookies and that player would be John Cangelosi. I almost dropped the entire stack of cards when I came across that Cangelosi card.

There were a few jaw dropping moments in these two green cellophane wrapped stacks of cards. I don't know where you found some of these cards, but I am glad to have them. Jaw dropping moment number two will wait until later in this post.

Green is my favorite color, so I knew I was in for a treat. What I found wrapped inside the forest green cellophane were cards that stretched my imagination to it's fullest. Let's get to the cards and find out exactly what I'm talking about.

This was an outstanding stack of cards from Billy at West Virginia Cards! I can definitely appreciate someone who knows of cards that aren't on my radar. Thanks, Billy! This was quite an adventure! The Joe Crede rookie numbered autographed card was a nice surprise! That marked twice that I nearly dropped the entire stack in my hand.Drop me a line and let me know what I can send your way.

  1. I found something else in that oddball box that you may find interesting. I'll mail it out to you soon.

If you want to know what you can send me, check out the post called "Send me some cards!" on my blog. That pretty much sums up what I'm looking for. (It's on the second page of posts.)

  2. Also, the '87 Fleer Update Jim Winn is from the glossy set.

  3. I noticed that the card was glossy, but it slipped my mind that Fleer made a glossy edition that year.

    The post has been corrected.

  4. Broders Rookies were pretty big in Cincinnati in 1988, because they were the first to have Sabo cards. I got a couple series, but they are unlicensed cards and since you posted a scan of one on your blog the baseball card police will be coming to arrest you. Hope you get those Reds sent out before they throw you in the pokie. LOL

  5. Bring on the card police! I have a good lawyer for that. No one takes my cards! LOL

  6. The note about the Jim Winn glossy card wasn't as much a correction as it was something I just remembered. I'm glad you liked everything I sent you.
