It's very rough around the edges and not colorized, but that is Babe Ruth in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform taking batting practice. I just wanted to do a quick mock-up of the card just to see what it would look like. I did not take a lot of time or care into this card. I already know that it isn't up to my usual custom card standards.
Just slumming with this one.
good lord. i hope topps doesn't do that. i was happy there was only one dodger sp this year as opposed to three last year.
ReplyDeletenot bad for just slumming though.
Jesus, you nearly gave me a heart attack. Thank god that's not real.
ReplyDeleteI figured I'd get the attention of the two rabid Dodger fans with this one. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't put it past Topps to do this though. Of course it would be an unannounced super duper short print.
The 2010 set is a tough one to "slum". I am impressed!
ReplyDeleteNice. I haven't tried my hand at the 2010 design yet for the Redlegs. The circular fade scares me.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see, the circle gave me a little more trouble than the fade. It's not bad for a first quick attempt, but I'm really not happy with the entire circle area.
ReplyDeleteAll you White Sox fans, come check out Sergio Santos' facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/sergiosantoswhitesox......GO SOX!!!
ReplyDeletefor slummin' that is one pretty damn sweet mock up. plus, the babe ruth/dodgers story is a very sad one...it should be captured in cardboard (perhaps better in the "Tales of the Game inserts set?).
ReplyDeleteDon't give Topps any more bad ideas. They are more than capable of coming up with them on their own.
