1994 Topps #147 - Mike LaValliere
On this day in 1995, the White Sox designated Mike LaValliere for assignment.
Spanky would enjoy two and a half years as backup catcher to Ron Karkovice, replacing Hall of Fame player Carlton Fisk. He would hit .263 with two home runs and fifty-one RBI in the course of 142 games. Mike was mainly there for defense, but had a spark or two in reserves, if his opponent counted him out.
