#30 - Magglio Ordonez

Number 30 would've gone to Tim Raines, if it were 1997. Number 30 would've gone to Donn Pall, if it were 1990. It may have gone to Gene Nelson, if it were 1985. Maybe even Bucky Dent, if it were 1978. But it's 2008. That means that number 30 goes to Magglio Ordonez.

Maggs was good before he hit the motor city and became a kitty and grew a mane. When he was with the White Sox, he hit around 30 home runs, over .300 and around 100 RBI each healthy season.

Magglio went to 4 All-Star games and won two Silver Slugger awards with the Sox. He wasn't too shabby on defense either. He came awfully close to becoming a 30/30 man in 2001.

His stats trump even Tim Raines. Maybe in another ten years, someone will have weaseled their way into this spot. For now, it looks to be Magglio's spot for a long time.
