I know what you are thinking. Didn't Moose wear #14 with the White Sox, just like he did with the Yankees and Dodgers? Why, yes he did. But that was in 1965. When Bill arrived here in July 1964, he wore the #5.
That half season, Bill hit .293, his best since his days as a Yankee. Moose's final All-Star appearance was in 1965 with the White Sox. He didn't make a huge splash in Chicago, but the fans embraced him.
Bill lives in Illinois and is currently a Community Relations Representative for the White Sox. He is also known to make television and radio appearances talking about the White Sox and his playing days.
