Bowling With Saddam

Possibly the strangest part of The Big Lebowski was the scene where Saddam Hussein gives out bowling shoes. With this in mind, I took an already existing card of Saddam, from the Topps Desert Storm set, and inserted "movie Saddam" into the card.

He may have invaded Canada on television, but here in the movies, he is reduced to a bowling alley employee. Maybe this was punishment for turning into a liquid Terminator and melding with a dog in another movie.

In more recent news, it has come to light that Saddam Hussein was forced to watch South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut over and over by U.S. Marines. I wonder which depiction Saddam preferred: bowling alley employee, gay lover of Satan, or a half man/half dog halfwit with an effeminate lisp. Anyone got a Ouija board?

More from the Lebowski Card Fest!

My 1972 Plymouth Fury. It’s Green with some brown, or, uh, rust, coloration.

The Rare "C" Version

This missing toe card (and the two that came before it) are obviously modeled after the Garbage Pail Kids sets of the mid eighties. I grew up with them and I collected them until the sixth series. On a rare occasion, I would run across a third version marked with a "c" after the number. This is in recognition of that childhood memory.

The Missing Toe

That toe had to come from somewhere! The unidentified woman gave up her toe in a failed extortion scheme. Maybe they would have had more luck with a Ponzi scheme.

White Russian

Where would a card set about The Big Lebowski be without a card of the White Russian drink that The Dude favors? It would be a pretty sad set indeed! So here's a tasty adult beverage card based on a 1915 invention set.

NIHILISTS!

I'm having too much fun with these Lebowski cards. This one is based off of a movie card set that I collected when I was a kid. I think it fits with the nihilists.

The Big Lebowski Card Fest Is On!

We must have all the time in the world lately.

The battle of fake cards inspired by "The Big Lebowski" is on!

Examples of previous entries by other bloggers are here and here.

I chose Donny as my card because I've had a platonic love affair with Steve Buscemi since Reservoir Dogs. He is one of the few actors that I will watch just about anything he is in.

Anyone else care to dabble in this? The Lebowski Card Fest is running right now!
