1983 TCMA 1945 Play Ball #17 - Ed Lopat
On this day in 1948, the White Sox traded Ed Lopat to the New York Yankees in exchange for Bill Wight, Fred Bradley and Aaron Robinson. In doing so, the Pale Hose gave up their best starter over the past four seasons. Lopat went on to great things with the Yankees during the regular season and the World Series by frustrating hitters with his slow breaking curve balls.
