On June 15, 1958, Ray Boone and Bob Shaw were traded from the Detroit Tigers for Tito Francona and Bill Fischer. With the White Sox in eighty-six games, Ray hit .243 with sixty-five hits and forty-six RBI. Boone was traded to the Kansas City Athletics for Harry Simpson on May 3, 1959.
