1947 Tip Top Bread #NNO - Johnny Rigney
On this day in 1914, Johnny Rigney was born.
Johnny was born in Oak Park, Illinois and lived in the area most of his life. He made his MLB debut with the White Sox on April 21, 1937 against the St. Louis Browns. Rigney played eight seasons out of eleven, losing three during military service with the Navy in WWII.
Johnny finished his career in 1947 with career totals of a 63-64 win/loss record, a 3.59 ERA and 605 strikeouts.
