1948 Leaf #153 - Floyd Baker
On this day in 1944, Floyd Baker's contract was purchased from the St. Louis Browns.
Floyd played seven seasons with the White Sox, but his best season was in 1949, where he reached career highs with a .251 average, forty RBI, one hundred one hits, fifteen doubles, four triples, and played in one hundred twenty-five games. Baker also took part in three double plays in one game as a third baseman on July 14, 1949, against the Washington Senators, in Chicago.
After the 1951 season Floyd was traded to the Washington Senators.
