Card #13 - Jimmy Gobble
Born: July 19, 1981
Jimmy is another in a long line of White Sox pitchers that came from the Kansas City Royals system. Gobble was released by the Royals, only to find himself pitching for the Texas Rangers in Spring Training of 2009. When the Rangers didn't retain his services, the White Sox picked him up.
He pitched in 12 games for the White Sox and was designated for assignment on July 7, 2009. Jimmy has good enough stuff, since he was drafted in the first round of the 1999 draft, but he hasn't been consistent. While there is hope for a turnaround, time may be running out for Gobble. His ERA hasn't been under 7.50 since 2007 with the Royals.
