On this day in 1931, Russ Kemmerer was born.
Russ was purchased by the White Sox on May 18, 1960 from the Washington Senators. Over parts of three seasons, Russ appeared in 103 games, mostly in relief, but with some spot starts. His record with the White Sox was 11-7, with a 3.63 ERA, with 128 strikeouts. On June 25, 1962, Kemmerer was traded to the Houston Colt .45s for Dean Stone.
