On this day in 1997, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected Jorge Fabregas from the Chicago White Sox in the expansion draft.
Jorge came to the Sox via trade on May 18, 1997 from the Anaheim Angels. In one hundred games with Chicago, Fabregas hit .280 with seven home runs and forty-eight RBI.
Jorge hung on in the majors through the 2002 season.
