On this day in 1999, the White Sox received Paul Konerko in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds for Mike Cameron.
The White Sox got the best end of this deal. Konerko went on to be a six time All-Star, first in team total bases with 4,010, 2005 ALCS MVP, team captain for nine seasons, Roberto Clemente Award winner in 2014, second in team home runs with 432, second in team RBI with 1,383, second in teams games with 2,268, third in team doubles with 406, third in hits with 2,292, and fourth in runs scored with 1,141. Not too shabby for his third MLB team.
