On this day in 1971, Todd Ritchie was born.
The White Sox were expecting big things from Todd Ritchie, but instead, he became a symbol of what went wrong in the 2002 season. It wasn't entirely Ritchie's fault, but a 5-15 record with 6.06 ERA certainly didn't help matters. He would have small stints with the Brewers and the Devil Rays after the White Sox, but he would never reach again near his peak, when he was pitching for the Pirates.
