This isn't so much a card, but a digital re-imagining of the 2006 Topps card of Ozzie Guillen, created by Ben Henry.
The Baseball Card Blog is signing off with a baseball card re-creation of Casey At The Bat, using actual baseball cards with words from the famous poem incorporated on each card.
While I was catching up on classic Thayer, in a new way, I ran across this image of Ozzie.
"It rumbled through the valley"
The person and the pose are perfect for that line. Ozzie is known for the rumbling of his mouth. When he talks, you know it!
This newly imagined card speaks volumes about the man, the myth and about the poem itself. If you haven't checked out Casey At The Bat done in cards, do yourself a favor and do so. It's amazing seeing everything incorporated so far.
The cards, the images, the poem. All are done justice by this final project.
