Free Cards Question #12

Congrats to steveisjewish for knowing that Jim Siwy made his only major league start in 1982!

From starts to finishes.

John Kruk was actually on the White Sox for a brief time. I know, it's hard to believe, but truth is stranger than fiction sometimes. I was really hoping that Kruk would lead the White Sox in the right direction, but fate had other ideas.

When John Kruk finished his playing career, he had just gotten a hit. When he returned to the dugout, he headed straight for the clubhouse, gathered his things and headed out the door... never to return.

Some say that was a smart move by going out with a hit. Some say it was a dumb move by bailing on a team in the middle of a game. Either way, it happened. Now he works as a commentator and part time siren.

Question #12

What year did John Kruk literally walk away from his playing career?

Good luck!

Krukker needed a hit that day to maintain a career .300 avg and he got one in his first at bat. 10 years in the major leagues and all the man ever did was smack one line drive after another.
