Card #22 - Nick MassetNick has had his share of ups and downs in 2008. He has done well in long relief and in rare spot starts, but was slightly inconsistent. Masset has excellent stuff, but he has to find the correct balance of pitches to succeed. Location, location, location.
On July 31, 2008, Nick was sent to the Cincinnati Reds, along with Danny Richar, for Ken Griffey Jr. Before Nick packed his bags for Cincinnati, he did earn his first career save with the Sox.
This photo almost seems like Nick is tipping his cap to say goodbye. I never thought that he would be traded, but that's why I'm not a GM.
This photo reminds me of a farewell speech. I think it takes on a little poignancy after going through the filters. The things that seem to have the most pop on them are the arms. One tipping his cap and the other holding a ball.
