Aaron Rowand's trip to see the Sox resulted in a White Sox winner. In fact, Rowand was 0 for 2 in the affair. His counterpart, Nick Swisher, was 1 for 3. The man who took over for Rowand, when he went to the Phillies was 2 for 3, including a walk. Yes, it looks like Brian Anderson's time may have finally arrived.
It would have to be a perfect storm of freak injuries, lackluster performances and sheer dominance by Brian Anderson, but that looks like that may be what's happening in Arizona. The battle for the outfield may shape up to be the most exciting race this spring.
The good:
Brian Anderson's hot hitting and stellar defense.
Brad Eldred's game winning 2-run home run.
Another 1-2-3 inning by Mike MacDougal.
The bad:
Ehren Wassermann's blown save.
Paul Konerko's 0 for 3 day.
The ugly:
26 opportunities wasted to get runners home.
Boone Logan's 2 inherited runners scored.
Overall, a good game. It could have gone either way for most of the game. Brad Eldred's home run came at the right time. It's always nice to see Aaron Rowand, no matter what team's uniform is on him. It looks like the Sox have turned a page in Spring Training and have decided to move forward and start winning again.
