3-9-08: Sox 3 - Padres 12

Everything seemed to be within reach. Everything seemed to be falling back into place. Then the eighth inning happened. All hell broke loose after that.

The good:
Jose Contreras looked solid. He even had a single!

Pablo Ozuna was awesome. There is a reason why Ozzie and Kenny want him on the team. This game shows why.

The bad:
Octavio Dotel's blown save.

The rookies, Rouse and Bourgeois had errors.

The ugly:
Charlie Haeger's performance resulted in 7 runs. The knuckleball needs experienced defense behind it. Brian Anderson was the only regular out there when Charlie was on the mound. Brian is spectacular on defense this spring, but he can't be everywhere.

The Sox were in this game until the minor leaguers filled out the field. Then, it was a little tricky. Add a knuckleball pitcher to the mix and there is a recipe for disaster.

Between the purple for the Rockies and the fact that the Sox signed "Superfly" Snukas younger brother that is one of the funniest cards I have ever seen.
