Carlos Quentin For Chris Carter

The second pick in the first round of the 2003 draft goes to the White Sox. Well, four and a half years later, but he is now a Palehose. This is a good trade for both teams. The Sox need major league ready outfield help and Chris Carter should help the Diamondbacks in a few years.

This goes along with the Kenny Williams credo to win now. Although Carlos plays right field, a spot currently held by the 2005 World Series MVP, I'm sure he'll play wherever he's needed in the outfield. Who knows, Carlos may be the fourth outfielder for all I know. Only time will tell.

Carlos is coming off of an injury, but looks to bounce back with no ill effects. He's still young enough to warrant the argument that he'll bounce back 100%.

This is kind of full circle for me, in a roundabout way. I sold a card of Carlos' to a relative of his about a month ago. Ever since then, I've kept my eye on him a little more closely. I liked what I saw there. Apparently Kenny Williams did too.

It is sad to give up a good prospect like Chris Carter, but if you want to have a chance at winning now, you have to sacrifice something. Like I say to everyone coming in at the major league level; Welcome to Chicago! You'll love it here.

Does that mean you are going to start collecting Quentin now or only when they are in WS uniforms?

Only if he's either listed as being currently on or shown in a White Sox uniform.
